What we collect and why
License data (mandatory): the email address you provide at purchase and the license code generated for you. Legal basis: execution of the contract (GDPR Art. 6.1(b)) — needed to activate and support your purchase, no separate consent required beyond this notice.
Device data (mandatory): a random identifier generated by the app on first launch (not tied to any hardware serial number) and your phone's model name, used only to enforce the 2-active-devices limit on your license. Same legal basis as above.
Vehicle/diagnostic data — never leaves your phone: DPF-related readings (soot mass, regeneration status) are read from your car over Bluetooth and processed entirely on-device. We have no access to this data and it is never transmitted to our servers.
We do not collect your location, contacts, browsing history, or any data unrelated to license activation.

We use the following processors to run the service. None of them may use your data for their own purposes.

Payments
Subscriptions are managed entirely by Paddle.com Market Ltd as our merchant of record. We never receive or retain credit card or banking data on our servers — only confirmation of a successful payment and the subscription status.
Your rights
You may request access to, correction of, or a copy of your data, or ask us to delete it, by emailing privacy@dpfguard.app. We don't currently have a self-service account deletion option in the app itself (there's no user account beyond your license) — email us and we'll handle it directly.
Data retention
License and device records are kept for as long as your subscription is active, plus a reasonable period for support/refund purposes. Upon a deletion request, data is removed from production servers within 30 days, unless we're legally required to retain it longer (e.g. tax records).
Security
All connections between the app, this website, and our processors use encrypted protocols (HTTPS/TLS).
Website analytics
This website does not use any analytics, tracking cookies, or advertising trackers.
